Designed and patented in 1913 in New York by Irvin Schott and his brother Jack, the name derives from the torpedo shape of the “Perfecto Garcia” brand cigars that Irvin Schott used to smoke. This jacket is strictly in semi-gloss black leather, has a medium-sized collar, visible diagonal zip, waist belt, zip pocket, pocket with automatic button, two studs on the collar and shoulder pads. A timeless emblem of rebellion, freedom and style. Invented in 1928 in New York by the Schott brothers as a resistant and protective garment for motorcyclists. This leather jacket had the peak of its popularity in the 50s when it was worn by Marlon Brando in the film “The Wild One”. The characteristics of this Leather Jacket are the shiny black color, the thick leather, the visible diagonal zip, the medium-sized collar with button, waist belt, shoulder pads and pockets with zips and studs. Subsequently, in the 70s this iconic leather garment had another evolution being adopted as a reference item by some Rock bands and a symbol of rebellion by the Punck youth movements, in this period the leather jacket became more “aggressive” adopting a high number of metal studs. Our leathers are of First Quality derived from animals used for the food chain, the part of the leather we use is “The Flower” that is, the external part of the leather, except in cases where we specify Nubuck which is the internal part of the leather called “Crosta”. It is easier to understand if the Jacket has been made with Real Leather or with Faux Leather (imitation leather) which is in fact plastic. In my opinion, the two things are not even comparable because they are two completely different things, our product comes from a high quality manufacturing with the use of natural products and artisanal processes with the insertion of accessories, such as zippers, buttons and quality linings, without taking into account the study and design of the models of the Leather Jackets, the Faux Leather Jacket is a sheet of plastic, printed and worked with a machine with the use of poor quality and highly polluting materials, sold to the end customer for 20 Euros. The difference between the two products is easily identifiable, just look at the surface appearance of the jacket, the Natural Leather is uneven, it has the mapping and the streaks that change continuously with some darker parts and others lighter, vice versa the jacket in Imitation Leather has a uniform surface, with mappings that repeat themselves the same one after the other, another thing is the difference to the touch, the Natural Leather gives a warm and soft sensation, while the jacket in Imitation Leather is cold and rigid.
